PkgStats

Registry download / package stats

Developer and package stats from GitHub, npm, PyPI and crates.io.

A native desktop app (Rust + egui). Look up a user on every registry at once, or a single package or repo, with charts, and track the ones you follow day by day.

PkgStats showing npm download stats and a 30-day chart for a user

01

What the setup does

Run the downloaded file and follow the wizard.

  1. Installs PkgStats for your account and adds it to the Start menu. No admin prompt.
  2. Uninstalling also removes the optional hourly background task, if you turned it on.
  3. Your history and followed items stay in %APPDATA%\PkgStats.

Other ways to install

With Rust
cargo install pkgstats
pkgstats

No install

Or download pkgstats-windows-x64.exe from the latest release and run it.

On a Mac

  1. Beta: built for Mac from the same release, but not yet tried on a real Mac.
  2. Open the .dmg and drag PkgStats into Applications. One app for Apple Silicon and Intel.
  3. Not on Mac yet: saving a GitHub token (it uses Windows Credential Manager) and the background task (Windows Task Scheduler).
