Publish

publish-pilot-mcp and shipkit run the same pipeline: a local folder to GitHub and npm, PyPI, or crates.io.

In Claude Desktop / any MCP client, go from an empty folder to GitHub + npm/PyPI/crates.io. Needs Node.js 22 or newer and never types passwords or 2FA.

shipkit

Same pipeline as one ship binary + Claude Code plugin (or any script). Rust CLI, not an MCP server. Risky steps need --confirm.

Safety

  1. Dry-run, then an explicit yes. ship refuses create-repo, release, and publish without --confirm, and every step has --dry-run. publish-pilot dry-runs the publish and leaves approval to you and your MCP client.
  2. No registry tokens stored in the repo. publish-pilot uses your gh and registry CLI logins. ship uses your existing gh, cargo, npm, or uv login. Generated release workflows publish with trusted publishing (OIDC).
  3. Nothing is overwritten, force-pushed, or unpublished. Scaffolding only creates missing files. A secret scan runs before a commit, repo, release, or publish.
